Peer to Peer
What is peer-to-peer (P2P)?
A peer-to-peer network connects the computers with each other in a workgroup to share
files, printers, and Internet access. This differs from client/server based networks, in
which some computers are dedicated to serving the others. P2P networks are generally
simpler, because they are designed for connecting a small number of computers. They tend
to run into problems at around 10-15 computers.
Windows 95, 98, ME, 2000, and XP all include the capacity for peer-to-peer networking
and can be set up with limited hardware expenditures.
